Protecting Your Workplace Rights

For the past decade my career has focused on protecting individuals from harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, and other unfair labor practices. While the law in Texas is generally that this is an “employment at will” state, meaning that an employer can terminate an employee for any reason or no good reason at all, a number of important State and Federal laws make certain types of discrimination, mistreatment, and unfair employment practices illegal.

I have litigated many of these laws, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, The Civil Rights Act of 1866, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Equal Pay Act of 1963 and the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978, the Antitrust laws that prohibit wage-fixing among employers, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the National Labor Relations Act, Chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code, the Texas Whistleblower Protection Act, and the Texas Payday Act, among others.
